Work Crew as Alternative to Jail / Fines in King County

There is an alternative to serving jail time and paying off fines / financial obligations imposed by King County District Court judges. Instead, convicted persons can do work crew if authorized by the sentencing judge. Work crew is administered through the King County Community Work Program (CWP). Each work crew day consists of working outside on King County roadways and parks for 8 hours (minus breaks) which is credited towards either 1 full day of jail time or $150.00 of court fines / financial obligations.  Work crew can be performed on Saturdays for those working full time jobs Monday through Friday. Those not working full time jobs are required to work 4 days a week until their jail sentence / financial obligations are satisfied. This is a much better alternative than spending time in jail or having to come up with thousands of dollars for fines.
