WASHINGTON STATE RESTRICTED DRIVER LICENSES FOR SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVERS (click here)
Many Washington State drivers get their driver licenses suspended/revoked every year for DUIs, Physical Control, Reckless Driving. Hit & Run (Attended Vehicle) or Driving While License Revoked 2nd Degree. However almost all of them are eligible for restricted driver licenses if they satisfy certain Depart of Licensing(DOL) requirements.
For DUI/Physical Control drivers, they may apply for a DOL Ignition Interlock License (IIL). They have to first install an Ignition Interlock Device(IID)(a "blow n go") in their car, obtain an SR 22 high risk insurance policy, and pay an application fee. If granted, they can then legally drive 24/7 in Washington (and in about 24 other states) during their license suspension/revocation periods.
For non DUI/Physical Control license suspensions/revocations, drivers may apply for an Occupational Restricted License (ORL) (a "Work License"). They have to first obtain an SR 22 high risk auto insurance policy and pay the DOL application fee.
If granted, they can then legally drive up to 12 hours a day, up to six days a week, in up to two contiguous WA counties. This allows drivers to continue driving to work during their license suspension/revocation periods.
