Long Delays in DUI Case Filings in Snohomish County and King County District Court (click to read)

Washington State Patrol trooper and county sheriff deputy DUI cases aren’t being filed in the Snohomish County District Court and King County District Court until 2 to 6 months or more after their DUI arrests.  And all police DUI cases involving search warrant blood alcohol / drug tests are now often not filed for over a year or more.

However, the separate Department of Licensing DUI administrative license suspension cases start immediately after the DUI arrest. A DUI arrestee’s license will automatically be suspended by the DOL 30 days after the arrest date unless prompt action is taken by the driver within 7 days. So it’s very important to immediately call an experienced DUI lawyer right after being arrested.
