Tolling / HOV lane changes to I-405

August 18th, 2015 No comments

The Washington State Department of Transportation has released an animated video to help understand the new tolling / HOV lanes on I-405 from Lynnwood to Bellevue. As noted in the video it is illegal to change lanes with a double solid line and you can be ticketed. You can only legally change lanes with a dotted line to enter and exit these tolling / HOV lanes.  Attorney Paul Hanson handles HOV traffic violations as well as speeding tickets, improper lane change tickets and other traffic tickets.

Auto Accident Statute of Limitations

February 20th, 2014 No comments

People injured in auto accidents have a 3 year Statute of Limitations (deadline) for either filing a lawsuit or settling their insurance claim. Too many injured persons wait too long and get too close to their case’s Statute of Limitation deadline before hiring a lawyer. This creates needless stress and worry. And it greatly hurts your claim’s $ value. The best thing to do is hire a lawyer right after your injury accident.

Special DUI Pilot Program begins 1/1/14 in some WA areas

December 30th, 2013 No comments

Starting January 1, 2014 the new 24/7 DUI Monitoring Program begins in three counties (Chelan, Spokane and Thurston) and two cities (Kent and Centralia).

Drivers charged with their 2nd DUI in any of those areas may be placed in this new program which requires daily monitoring for substance abuse.

They will either report to jail twice a day to give a breath test (costing $4 for each breath test) or wear an ankle monitor, such as a “SCRAM bracelet”, with prices costing between $12-20 per day.

“If they pass the test, they’re out the door. If they fail the test, they’re incarcerated.”  explains Program Manager Bruce Bjork.

Currently in Snohomish and King Counties, local judges decide on a case by case basis whether to impose these above release conditions on  2nd DUI offenders.
